Bargello Technique Tutorial from Art Gallery Fabrics-The Creative Blog

Edited copy

Welcome back to another tutorial, makers!

I'm sure when everyone is in the zone, you can relate too! Combing this love to strip piecing, I thought it would be a great idea to show all of you the Bargello Technique, which is made of strips of fabric sewn together to create the appearance of movement. I wanted to capture this technique with a small project so it is easier to ...

Summer Squares Quilt from The Cutting Table Quilt Blog - A Blog for Quilters by Quilters

Summer Squares Quilt for the Missouri Star Quilt Company.

But in summertime … those quilts take on a whole new life!

Jenny Doan and the Summer Squares quilt by the Missouri Star Quilt Company.

We carry them to picnics and t-ball games. We spread them out for fireworks and parades. They join us on camping trips and days at the beach. Summer is adventure time for quilts!

This week Jenny is working on a brand new Summer Squares quilt. It’s a pretty jelly roll pattern based on one of our all-time favorites, Summer in ...

Hi, fabric lovers!

Elements-2020 BLOG

Welcome back to my “Matching Fabrics” series! This has been quite a ride, with such an overwhelming response since the start, I am very excited to be continuing and sharing my knowledge. In my last blog post, we spoke about how important scale was and how to use it. In the last part of that blog, we spoke about the small-scale fabric prints and in this section, I wanted to dive deeper into what that is and how they are also considered a blender fabric.

Straight Stitch Length: What is it? Why does it matter? from Crafty Gemini

topstitching an outer pocket

If you are confused with stitch lengths, then here’s a video I made to help you better understand how it works and when to use it. I am going to talk about straight stitch lengths only. YouTube, Blogging, Stitching & Life from Where Art & Life Meet

Things have been busy around here. I had the idea to start a YouTube channel over a year ago. My thought was to go through Sue Spargo’s Creative Stitching book and demonstrate every stitch (but for left-handed stitchers) featured in her book, one stitch a week. I discussed my idea with Anna Bates, my friend… Continue reading YouTube, Blogging, Stitching & Life
